Website Loading ... New Update Installing...

Coming back to my website after a summer of using it just once to send off for an audition meant that a decent chunk of it seemed a little off. It was time for an update.

In terms of colour palette and font choice, I feel as though I got them right when I first made the website and I am also still happy with the overall design. I simply needed to update a few key bits.

Editing my gallery

When October hit, I began to take on more roles in student films, as well as performing my own adaptations of plays on stage and filming my own films. This meant a lot more media needed to be added.

Therefore, I updated my gallery to showcase my new performances, as well as adapting my showreel with more professional and up-to-date footage.

Additionally, I found that I wanted to showcase some of my work in more detail. To do this,

I made a new page: ‘Projects’ and linked in some videos of my work/performances with information about the performance itself, as well as the process of making it. This meant I could also showcase my creative process and how that evolves and changes over time.

I also realised that when casting directors, agents and other people use my website, they might not necessarily view it on a computer screen. Therefore, I made sure to adapt my site as best as I could to a phone screen. I found this a challenge because it was difficult to make things (particularly pictures) look the way I wanted them to. They tended to take up a lot more of the page. However, I did eventually manage to make it somewhat presentable - though I do think this still needs some work!

Another thing that I adapted for viewers of the website was my actor CV. Though my original version was legible, it didn’t align entirely with Spotlight standards and I felt it would be useful for me to amend it in order to expose myself to the largest possible number of

people.

To summarise, although on the face of it, my website seems largely similar to last year, I have changed some key sections, such as the gallery, showreel and actor CV so that it’s more up-to-date, as well as adding a whole new section titled ‘Projects’ to showcase my creative process.
